Dreaming to Remember

I never know when inspiration will arrive. For Dreaming to Remember, it came while reading Heinrich von Ofterdingen, a beautiful, otherworldly tale by the German Romantic author Novalis. His vision of the elusive Blue Flower—a symbol of longing, drawing one toward a deeper way of knowing—stayed with me and became the seed for this series.

Novalis wrote at the turn of the 19th century, during a time of rapid industrial change and a growing tendency to view the human being as a machine. In response, he turned toward poetry, imagination, and the fairy tale as ways of awakening the inner senses and keeping alive our capacity for wonder.

Dreaming to Remember grew from that encounter, inviting us into a landscape of longing—for home, for remembrance, and for the unfolding possibilities of who we may become.
